International newspapers: Bloodshed continues despite the truce in Gaza

International newspapers and websites covered the continued killing in Gaza despite talk of a ceasefire, alongside political and judicial developments in Israel and US immigration policies, in a scene reflecting multiple tensions on both the regional and international levels.

The British newspaper The Guardian published a lengthy report on Gaza, stating that the bloodshed there should have stopped, adding that there is no sign of normal life in the Strip as the killing and misery continue.

The article stated that the term “ceasefire” creates the illusion that Palestinians are out of danger, while violence continues daily, with statistics showing an average of seven people killed daily by Israeli weapons.

The newspaper indicated that any attempt to rebuild residential complexes will not begin until the “mountains of rubble” filled with unexploded ordnance are cleared, with an expected six months before Palestinians can return to those areas.

Meanwhile, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the truce is officially still in effect, but it has not stopped the almost daily airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in civilian casualties, including children.
