The Israeli army recommends halting aid deliveries to Gaza

Following the obstacles the Israeli army is placing in the way of opening the Rafah crossing, informed sources in Tel Aviv revealed efforts by the military leadership to obstruct the entry of supply trucks into the Gaza Strip, claiming that the current situation “serves Hamas.”

These sources stated that senior officials in the military establishment are pushing for a resumption of the war because they believe that Hamas continues to recover and will refuse to relinquish its weapons.

According to a report in the Yediot Ahronot newspaper today (Thursday), it appears that the military leadership is competing with the extreme right wing in the government, led by Ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir, in obstructing the plan to end the war and open political horizons.

Israeli army officials said that the entry of approximately 4,200 supply trucks per week into Gaza “must stop immediately,” claiming that it constitutes part of the “concessions” associated with the first phase of the agreement, warning that the continuation of this situation will lead to a “resumption of fighting.” Although these leaders blame the government, which, “as usual, lacks initiative for the next stage and leaves it to others – the Americans – to dictate terms,” the solutions they propose undermine President Donald Trump’s plan and could reignite the situation.
