On the first day of Ramadan in Gaza, the occupation forces killed two Palestinians and released 13 prisoners

The Israeli occupation army killed two Palestinians in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, on Wednesday, the first day of Ramadan, while the occupation released 13 prisoners from the Strip.

In the latest developments, medical sources reported the death of a young Palestinian man east of Khan Younis as a result of gunfire from Israeli forces. Eyewitnesses stated that the Israeli occupation army shot the Palestinian inside an area it occupies in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation army continues to occupy more than 50% of the Gaza Strip, encompassing the southern and eastern strips and large parts of the north.

Earlier in the day, Nasser Hospital issued a brief statement announcing the death of a young Palestinian man, shot by the Israeli occupation army near the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of the city.

Witnesses reported that the eastern areas of Khan Younis witnessed heavy gunfire from Israeli vehicles stationed in their deployment areas since the morning.

According to witnesses, Israeli vehicles also opened fire near the Morag axis, north of Rafah (south), while artillery shelled the eastern areas of the Bureij refugee camp (central Gaza). In Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, Israeli military vehicles opened fire on the eastern areas of Beit Lahia, while artillery shelled the vicinity of Al-Sikka Street, east of the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. No injuries were reported.

This comes as part of Israel’s ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement that began on October 10, 2015. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, these violations have resulted in the deaths of 603 Palestinians and injuries to 1,618 others as of Monday.
