Tehran: The security of Hormuz is “vital” for Iran, and ships must coordinate with our navy… We will no longer act with restraint

Tehran – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, affirmed in decisive statements to Iranian television that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is of vital importance to Iran and that the country’s security is closely linked to the stability of the region.

Baghaei warned that the states of insecurity caused by the US and the Israeli entity in the region could negatively reflect on the movement of ships, adding, “We do not want this strait to be insecure. Ships wishing to transit must coordinate with the Iranian navy to maintain navigational security.”

In a reference to a shift in Iranian strategy, the spokesman said, “We will no longer act with aloofness or a policy of restraint,” affirming a consensus on the necessity to act in a way that removes war from the country forever and not to allow enemies to persist in their aggressions.

Baghaei stressed that Iran reserves the right to target the launch pads of aggression in the face of any military assault or the misuse of bases in some countries to launch attacks against it, clarifying, “If the use of the lands and installations of these countries against Iran stops, then our defensive measures will also stop.”

The spokesman affirmed that Iran harbors no animosity towards the peoples and countries of the region, yet it reserves the right to self-defense, describing what has happened up to this moment as having been “astonishing to the enemies.”
