Wall Street Journal: UAE conducted covert strikes targeting an oil facility inside Iran

The Wall Street Journal, citing sources described as informed, revealed that the UAE conducted covert military strikes against targets inside Iran during last April.

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

According to the report, one of the strikes targeted an oil refinery on Lavan Island, located in the Gulf. Abu Dhabi did not make any official announcement regarding the operation or its responsibility for it.

The report indicated that the UAE had previously allowed the use of its airspace, lands, and territorial waters by the US and “Israel” in operations related to the escalation against Iran, which has drawn official Iranian criticism.

The newspaper added that Tehran had previously accused regional parties of participating in military operations or facilitating attacks targeting its territory, affirming that it responded by targeting American and Israeli interests inside the region.

This report comes amid escalating regional tensions related to the confrontation between Iran on one side and the US and “Israel” on the other, amid fears of an expanding scope of escalation in the Gulf.
