Iran’s Foreign Ministry: No final negotiations with America before the agreement terms are implemented, and we are moving forward with new arrangements in Hormuz
The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday that negotiations on the final agreement with the US have not yet begun and will not commence before the implementation of the basic terms related to ceasing escalation, oil sales, and the release of frozen assets, indicating that Iran is currently focusing on ensuring the implementation of the memorandum of understanding’s terms.
Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman clarified that Washington has issued the necessary licenses related to the oil sales clause, while follow-up on the implementation of the clause regarding the release of frozen Iranian assets is ongoing.
He revealed that an Iranian delegation of experts will head to Doha this week to follow up on the implementation of these commitments, foremost among them the assets file.
He noted that there are no scheduled negotiation meetings with the American side in the coming days, affirming that any visits by American officials to Qatar are not related to the Iranian delegation’s visit.
Hormuz Arrangements:
In a related context, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s insistence on formulating new arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that Tehran has informed the Sultanate of Oman of the need to modify transit routes, and that the situation in the strait “will not return to what it was before the war.”
He added that Iran demands to receive the cost of services related to navigation in the strait and insists on being the entity that determines transit routes, while rejecting any alternative routes, affirming that Tehran will follow up on the implementation of the new arrangements in consultation with the Sultanate of Oman or without it.
