American newspaper: America faced a very difficult battle against the Sana’a forces in the Red Sea

The Wall Street Journal published a report revealing the major challenges facing the US Navy in the Red Sea during the confrontations with the Yemeni armed forces, who have made missiles a central part of their military arsenal.

The newspaper pointed out that one of the most prominent challenges is the necessity for American ships to return to ports in the Mediterranean or Red Sea after depleting their interceptor missiles, in the absence of a reliable way to refill ammunition at sea, which is an extremely difficult task due to the large weight and size of the missiles, according to the chief engineer of the air defense sector at Hopkins University.

It explained that the confrontations have shown the United States’ need for massive numbers of interceptor missiles, noting that Israel, despite possessing an advanced multi-layered defense system, is suffering from a severe shortage of interceptor missiles.

The newspaper added that the 12-day US-Israeli aggression against Iran revealed a worrying gap in Washington’s missile stockpile, as THAAD system operators consumed about a quarter of the interceptor missiles, prompting the Pentagon to divert missiles that were intended for Saudi Arabia to the benefit of systems deployed in the occupied territories.
