Yemen’s surprises in the fourth stage of naval escalation

The Yemeni operations in support of Gaza entered a new stage on Monday, with the Yemeni forces revealing their upgrade to a fourth level, but what surprises might Yemen present during the new stage?

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

In November 2023, Yemen officially launched the first phase of support for Gaza with the start of the massive Israeli aggression, beginning with calls and advice to ships before imposing a new fait accompli by intercepting, detaining, or sinking them.

Over more than a year of support, Yemen has raised the level of its operations to the fifth stage, but during those stages the operations remained comprehensive, during which it revealed various types of naval and air weapons, such as new types of long-range drones and supersonic missiles, in addition to unmanned boats and submarines.

This qualitative and quantitative development in the operations has greatly contributed to tightening the siege on the occupation by sea, with the closure of the port of Eilat, and by air, by targeting Ben Gurion Airport with repeated missiles, which has greatly reduced its activity, according to Hebrew reports, by more than 70%.

Today, after nearly two years of Yemeni steadfastness and confrontation and the intensification of the occupation’s aggression and the famine it imposes on Gaza, the Yemeni forces announce a new stage of escalation aimed at completely tightening the naval blockade on the occupation, which will not be limited to the port of Eilat but will include all the occupation’s ports on the Mediterranean Sea that Yemen had previously targeted during the previous stages. But what can Yemen do?

So far, the analyses and leaks in Sana’a point to expanding the scope of targeting ships, including those belonging to Arab and Islamic countries trying to publicly show their support for Gaza and secretly break the siege on the occupation, but it is certain that the upcoming operations will include the introduction of new weapons, and the scope of confrontations outside the region’s corridors will expand, and Yemen may also reveal new surprises, as it did during the recent period of confrontation, whether in terms of the type of targeted ships or the weapons used.
