Government media in Gaza: Aid entering the Strip is only enough for 3%

Ismail al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, revealed that the actual amount of aid reaching citizens in the Gaza Strip does not exceed 3% of the daily needs of approximately 2.4 million people, including more than one million Palestinian children, despite the Israeli occupation’s pledges to open the crossings since July 27.
In statements to Al Jazeera Net, al-Thawabta said that Gaza hospitals continue to record daily deaths due to famine and food shortages. The latest deaths were five, including two children, in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll from hunger and malnutrition to 217, including 100 children. This scene reflects the depth of the tragedy and the continued policy of blockade and starvation practiced by the Israeli government.
Regarding the actual number of trucks carrying humanitarian aid actually entering the Gaza Strip, the Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza indicated that only 1,210 aid trucks entered Gaza over the past 14 days, out of a projected 8,400—equivalent to 14% of the actual needs.
He added that most of these trucks were looted and robbed amid the security chaos created by the occupation as part of a systematic policy of what he called “engineering starvation and chaos” aimed at breaking the will of the Palestinian people.
