Maghreb Flotilla activists confirm they will continue their journey to Gaza despite the attacks

Last night, the Global Steadfastness Flotilla, heading towards the Gaza Strip to break the blockade, was targeted by drones.
The Global Flotilla’s account on the X platform announced 12 explosions on nine of its ships. It also warned of escalating, dangerous Israeli attacks. These figures were confirmed by the Maghreb Flotilla, which confirmed no human casualties.
From aboard the Deir Yassin ship near the Greek coast, Nabil al-Shanoufi, a member of the Global Flotilla’s organizing body, confirmed to Al Jazeera Net that one of the sailboats was damaged and that part of its sail was burned. He asserted that the targeting of the sailboats was primarily “intended to burn their sails and disrupt their course.”
Al-Shanoufi explained that the supervisors repaired what could be repaired and decided to continue the journey. He emphasized that the attack last night was nothing more than an attempt to dissuade them from continuing on the road to Gaza, to influence the participants’ psychology, or perhaps to influence their countries’ decisions and urge them to retreat. “We are still off the coast of Greece, and are about three days away from reaching the Gaza border,” Al-Shanoufi said. He considered the targeting premature, predicting more serious developments the closer they get to Gaza. He said, “The occupying entity will attempt to pressure and reduce the number of ships heading toward the Strip.” The same speaker called on the countries of the participating activists to escalate their rhetoric toward the Israeli side and declare absolute support for the Palestinian cause, “similar to what Spain did by narrowing the diplomatic circle around Israel, which is the primary goal of the Global Steadfastness Flotilla,” he said.
