Hebrew media: Banning open events in “Eilat” for fear of Yemeni strikes
The Israel Hayom website published a new report highlighting the security tension witnessed in the settlement of Eilat following the success of the drones affiliated with the Sana’a forces in striking the city’s tourist center twice within one week.
Exclusive follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yamani:
The report confirmed that the Israeli police recommended the Eilat municipality stop licensing any events or conferences in open areas after the recent attack that targeted the tourist area last Wednesday and forced hotels to cancel or move their activities to closed places.
It quoted the police as saying that “Eilat and its suburbs have been subjected to repeated security threats, and within one week only, two serious incidents occurred that caused severe injuries, and if it were not for luck, there would have been heavy human losses,” adding that the impossibility of providing full protection in open places imposes freezing events there out of concern for the safety of the public.
In the same context, the “Eilat Red Sea” website mentioned that the Israeli ambulance service “Magen David Adom” declared a state of maximum alert inside the city and its surroundings, coinciding with the Jewish holiday (Sukkot), where the crews were reinforced with additional teams and modern rescue equipment.
Hebrew reports also pointed to a significant shortcoming in health services inside Eilat, as the Israeli army had to transfer several critically injured individuals via helicopters to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba due to the inability of the local hospital to respond to emergency cases.
