The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Monday that it continues to provide life-saving assistance and essential services to nearly two million Palestinians suffering from war and famine.
This came in a report issued by UNRWA on its work in the Palestinian territories during the period from January 2025 to Monday.
The UN agency added in its report: “UNRWA remains the largest provider of primary health care amid the famine in Gaza City and the inhumane conditions throughout the Strip.”
It explained that more than 1,000 UNRWA health workers operate six clinics and 20 medical points across the Strip.
UNRWA stated that its teams reported in September that there were more than 94,000 displaced Palestinians in 60 shelters under its management.
The UN agency quoted one of its employees as saying: “We are working in catastrophic conditions, doing everything we can to provide services to those in need.”
UNRWA continues to provide these services despite the severe financial crisis it is suffering from, and has repeatedly warned of its repercussions in light of the severe deterioration in the humanitarian conditions of refugees in the Gaza Strip.
