No one escaped… Euro-Med documents shocking statistics two years after the “genocide”
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has revealed preliminary statistics demonstrating the scale of the “genocide” being perpetrated by Israel in the Gaza Strip. These shocking data revealed that the effects of the crime have not spared any of the Strip’s residents, documenting the killing, injury, or arrest of more than 270,000 people—nearly 12% of the total population—since October 7, 2023.
In a report, the Observatory documented the effects of more than two years of the “genocide,” including killings, injuries, arrests, destruction, and dispossession, as well as forced displacement, food insecurity, deprivation of health and education services, and the psychological effects that have affected all residents of the besieged Strip.
The report explained that, over the course of more than two years, the Israeli occupation army killed approximately 75,190 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including at least 70,248, representing 90% of the total number of civilians. This includes 21,310 children, representing 30% of the total number of martyrs, and 13,987 women, representing 20% of the total number.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor also documented the injury of approximately 173,200 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, tens of thousands of whom continue to suffer permanent disabilities or severe injuries, including amputations, severe burns, physical deformities, spinal and eye injuries, and severe psychological disorders resulting from repeated trauma and the loss of loved ones and homes.
It also indicated that there are approximately 45,600 orphaned children who lost one or both parents as a result of Israeli military attacks, while thousands of children still do not know the fate of their parents due to the presence of thousands of missing persons.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor documented the detention of approximately 12,000 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including approximately 2,700 people who are still under arrest or victims of enforced disappearance. It noted that, according to the testimonies of released prisoners, it documented 42 forms of torture and inhumane treatment to which Palestinian prisoners are subjected in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including rape, sexual assault, bone breaking, electric shocks, spitting and urinating on detainees, threats to kill family members, in addition to premeditated killing and killing under torture.
He stated that as a direct result of the starvation crime Israel has been perpetrating against the population of the Gaza Strip since the start of the “genocide,” 482 Palestinians have died from malnutrition, including 160 children. The entire population of the Gaza Strip (100%) continues to face high levels of food insecurity. Furthermore, Euro-Med Monitor observed a 98% decrease in the daily per capita water share due to the widespread destruction of water infrastructure and Israel’s prevention of water entry into the Strip.
The report also documented that the Israeli occupation authorities have prevented or obstructed the entry of approximately 80% of international humanitarian missions into the northern Gaza Strip and Gaza City over the course of two years.
