Gaza: Health Ministry warns of serious health deterioration

The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated on Sunday that the health situation in the Gaza Strip remains “catastrophic” despite the ceasefire agreement coming into effect, confirming that newly established medical facilities have been rendered inoperable due to the storm and heavy rains.
Ministry spokesperson Khalil al-Daqran added that the Israeli occupation’s failure to adhere to the terms of the agreement has perpetuated the health crisis. He noted that Israel continues to prevent the entry of medicines and medical supplies into the Strip, in addition to preventing the wounded and injured from leaving for treatment abroad.
He pointed out that the occupation is preventing 16,500 patients and injured individuals from traveling despite their complete official paperwork and necessary medical referrals.
Local official sources confirmed that Israel is reneging on its commitments under the ceasefire agreement, particularly the clauses related to the humanitarian protocol and the entry of trucks carrying food, medical, and relief aid.
Al-Daqran explained that the medical points (tents) recently established to provide health services to citizens were rendered inoperable due to heavy rains and strong winds that blew the tents away.
He called on the international community to intervene immediately to urgently provide tents, mobile homes, and building materials to enable medical teams to continue their work.
