UNICEF: 37 children have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of the year, in light of a fragile ceasefire

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported that 37 Palestinian children have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year, amid a fragile ceasefire. In the West Bank, two children were killed and 25 others injured during January.

This information was included in a report issued by the UN agency, which detailed the situation of Palestinian children in Gaza and the West Bank.

The report explained that since the beginning of the year, 37 children have reportedly been killed across the Gaza Strip, despite the fragile ceasefire.

It continued, “The situation remains extremely fragile and deadly for many children in Gaza. Children continue to suffer from airstrikes and are affected by the collapse of health, water, and education systems.”

UNICEF stressed the need for the ceasefire to hold and fulfill its promise to end the suffering of children in Gaza.

The ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, but Israel has violated it hundreds of times, resulting in the deaths of 574 Palestinians and injuries to 1,518 others.
