Escalation on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank

The Palestinian territories witnessed a new escalation on Wednesday as Israeli forces carried out extensive demolition and land-clearing operations in the northern West Bank, coinciding with continued bombardment of the Gaza Strip and a rising death toll.
In the West Bank, Israeli forces demolished and bulldozed homes in Jenin as part of an ongoing military campaign targeting cities and refugee camps in the north. The forces also arrested at least 25 Palestinians, including a journalist and children, during raids and searches in several areas, primarily in Ramallah, Nablus, and Hebron. Dozens more Palestinians were detained for interrogation.
In the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources reported the death of a young man in his twenties following a bombing that targeted Khan Younis in the southern part of the Strip. Others were wounded by Israeli fire during shootings in northern and southern areas.
This coincided with continued artillery shelling and gunfire from Israeli military vehicles, as well as the demolition of buildings in the eastern areas of the Strip, amidst heavy overflights by warplanes in Gaza’s airspace.
