Trump seeks a savior in Hormuz and specifically appeals to China

Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

After his aggressive policies and military provocations against Iran led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and ignited a global oil crisis, US President Donald Trump emerged to plead with his allies and major powers to form a coalition to salvage what can be salvaged.

Trump said in statements today that “it is natural for the beneficiaries of the Strait of Hormuz to help ensure that nothing bad happens in it,” specifically referring to China, which obtains 90% of its oil via this strait.

Trump added that Washington is talking to other countries about monitoring the Strait of Hormuz and is asking for help in protecting it, noting that America has always been ready to help NATO countries and considering that “it is important to see which of them rushes to help us now.”

These statements come after a series of public refusals by major countries to participate in any naval coalition.

Australia and Japan had previously announced their refusal to send naval forces, while reports revealed that other countries prefer direct negotiation with Iran rather than engaging in an American military adventure.

Observers believe that the state of international isolation and pleading with allies that the Trump administration has reached is an inevitable result of its unilateral policies and military provocations that ignited the region, led to the closure of the world’s most important waterway, and caused an energy crisis that affected everyone.
