Escalation of operations in Hormuz as Iran hints at withdrawal from the truce
The Strait of Hormuz recorded, on Wednesday, the largest tempo of military operations by Iranian forces, concurrently with Iran hinting at withdrawing from the truce with the US.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Since morning, the strait has recorded approximately 4 military operations at a minimum.
Media reports indicated that Iranian forces targeted an American oil ship in the past few hours, marking the fourth vessel to be subjected to attacks; the most notable among them was the “Iguri,” flying the Greek flag, which was seen burning in the Sea of Oman after Iranian media confirmed it was targeted by the Revolutionary Guard for failing to comply with orders and directives.
Earlier today, Iranian forces announced their success in intercepting two ships, one of them Israeli, seizing them and returning them to Iranian ports in response to the American forces’ seizure of Iranian ships on Tuesday.
These four operations represent the largest daily tally the Strait of Hormuz has witnessed since Iran’s decision to close it a month ago in response to the American-Israeli aggression. This escalation of Iranian operations in Hormuz comes despite the large deployment of American battleships.
It also coincides with the expiration of the ceasefire agreement with the US, despite its extension by Trump. Iranian television had hinted at Iran’s withdrawal from the agreement, indicating that Iranian forces will not adhere to it and will act according to the interests of their people.
