Saudi Arabia loses the first “Emirati” governorate in Eastern Yemen
Saudi Arabia was dealt a powerful Emirati blow in eastern Yemen on Tuesday. This coincides with the start of an escalatory program to expel it.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The island of Socotra, located at the junction of the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, witnessed the largest popular demonstration in support of expelling the Saudi occupation.
Thousands gathered in response to the Transitional Council’s call to launch a new escalatory program to expel Saudi Arabia.
The gathering came despite Saudi attempts to end Emirati influence on the island, which Abu Dhabi aspires to declare as its eighth emirate.
Over the past months, Saudi Arabia has thrown its full weight into dismantling the forces allied with the Transitional Council politically, in parallel with weakening them militarily by expelling the Emirati military governor from it.
The Transitional Council’s dominance of the scene on the island signals the beginning of the phase of ending Saudi influence in the eastern and southern regions of Yemen, which is expected to escalate in the coming days.
