Yemen sends a message to Italy on the eve of assuming command of the European mission in the Red Sea
Yemen sent a message to Italy on Monday, coinciding with its assumption of command of the European mission, currently being formed, in the Red Sea.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Italian newspaper “La Repubblica” quoted Mohammed Al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council, as saying that Italy would become a target if it participated in the American-British aggression against Yemen.
Al-Houthi emphasized the necessity for Italy to remain neutral in the conflict and to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop the genocide crimes in Gaza, considering it the only way to achieve peace in the region.
The message from Al-Houthi comes just two days after the Italian Ministry of Defense announced its intention to appoint an admiral to lead the European military mission expected to be deployed in the Red Sea on the 17th of this month.
Italy has been known for its extreme positions regarding events in Yemen over the past few months.
The Italian Defense Minister did not hide his country’s desire to participate in the American-British aggression against Yemen during his participation in the meeting of European Union defense ministers last week. He launched an attack in his speech against what he described as “the Houthis” and tried to portray Yemeni operations in the Red Sea as a threat to international navigation, despite the fact that Sana’a has identified Israeli ships and those associated with them as targets.
The new Yemeni message aims to control the pace of the European mission before its deployment.
