Abdul-Salam: The new metal currency is a positive step that will alleviate the suffering of the people

Mohammed Abdul-Salam, the head of the Sana’a delegation in the political negotiations, said that “the new 100-riyal metal currency, which replaces the damaged paper currency, is a positive step taken by the Central Bank in Sana’a towards comprehensive remediation.”

Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Abdul-Salam pointed out in a tweet that “this step will alleviate the suffering of the people after years of resilience in the face of a fierce economic, financial, and banking war that ran parallel to the military aggression on our country.”

The Central Bank announced this afternoon, during a press conference, the decision to replace the damaged 100-riyal currency with a metal currency, indicating that it will start circulating tomorrow, Sunday.

The bank’s decision to replace the damaged 100-riyal currency comes in light of the difficulties faced by citizens due to dealing with the old currency.
