A British threat to re-siege Yemen

On Monday, Britain threatened to reimpose the siege on Yemen.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The British embassy reported in a tweet on its official social media page that a team of its employees visited the headquarters of the UN inspection mechanism in Djibouti to witness its work on the ground and provide support.

It also indicated its country’s intention to tighten the siege on Yemen, considering the Yemeni attacks against the Israeli occupation would only lead to what it described as the strengthening of the UN inspection mechanism.

This is the first time that Britain has addressed the headquarters of the UN inspection mechanism since its establishment years ago.

Britain’s move to manipulate the role of the UN mechanism, which played a significant role in favor of the Saudi-led war coalition in 2015 during the years of war and siege by obstructing the entry of ships to the port of Hudaydah under various pretexts and delaying their arrival at a time when Britain and its Western allies, led by America, have failed to halt Yemeni military operations against the Israeli occupation.

Britain has participated in several attacks on Yemeni cities in recent months in an attempt to break the Yemeni blockade on Israel.

The timing of the British move indicates an attempt by the United Kingdom to exert pressure on Yemen through the card of the port of Hudaydah, if it doesn’t reflect an actual approach by Britain, especially with Iran’s decision to close the Strait of Hormuz, the last maritime outlet for the Israeli occupation.
