The Arabian Sea prepares to swallow another ship
Britain refuted Western claims on Wednesday regarding recovering a cargo ship targeted in the Arabian Sea in the middle of last month.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Reuters, the British news agency, confirmed in a report that the ship “MV Verbena” is still floating in the Arabian Sea and facing sinking. It also quoted the European military mission in the region as saying that rescue attempts for the ship are still ongoing, indicating the failure of salvage operations.
The ship “MV Verbena” is one of several vessels that were targeted on June 14th while sailing in the Arabian Sea in an operation where one of the ship’s guards was injured, according to the British agency.
Greece, leading the European Union military mission in Yemen, claimed that the ship continued its sailing despite confirming the evacuation of its crew.
According to the official spokesman for the Yemeni forces at the time, the ship was targeted for violating Yemen’s decision to ban navigation to Israeli ports in the Red and Mediterranean Seas.
“MV Verbena” may be the third ship to be sunk in the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and even the Arabian Sea.
