American exercises on the consequences of targeting its air bases in the Gulf
On Monday, the US conducted exercises that were the first of their kind in the Gulf. This comes hours after a speech by the leader of Ansar Allah in Yemen, outlining the contours of the upcoming confrontation in the next phase.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The US Central Command published photos of exercises conducted by the 379th Expeditionary Engineer Squadron of the Royal Air Force. The training includes rapid repair of damage to military infrastructure within the area of responsibility of the Central Command in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The photos show the aftermath of missile strikes on the US military base before its repair.
The exercises are part of the “Ready Lion” activities conducted by the US forces in conjunction with the Emirati and Saudi forces for several weeks.
The timing of the new exercises indicates US anticipation of attacks on its bases, especially as they come following the speech of the Houthi leader, in which he warned neighboring countries against allowing the use of their territories for aggression against Yemen.
In recent days, US forces have changed their strategy by using neighboring bases and refueling their aircraft in the air instead of deploying aircraft carriers that they were forced to withdraw due to Yemeni attacks.
