France confirms one of its battleships targeted in the Red Sea attack
On Saturday, France confirmed that an attack in the Red Sea targeted one of its battleships.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The French Defense Ministry stated that the battleship was targeted by boats loaded with bombs, claiming to have intercepted one of them.
The military mission of the European Union clarified in a statement that it had sent a French battleship to assist in evacuating the crew of the ship flying the Greek flag “Sonion,” which was targeted and set on fire.
This is the only mission announced by the mission since the operation began in February.
French forces halted their operations in the Red Sea following statements from Yemeni forces about an operation against them, details of which were not disclosed, only hinting at preventing one of its battleships from returning to its base in Djibouti and besieging it.
France has had to withdraw its battleships from the Red Sea several times.
Yemeni media outlets close to Ansar Allah and activists on social media circulated reports about the targeting of the French battleship and shared images of a new boat involved in the operation.
