The health sector in the Gaza Strip is plunged into darkness as the Israeli war has lasted for more than 10 months, while medical staff and hospitals remain in the crosshairs of the occupation.
The war has put 85% of Gaza’s health sector facilities out of service, while those that remain in service provide limited services in light of the acute shortage of their various needs.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health confirmed that 33 health facilities had been completely shut down since the war began, prompting the tents to be turned into small medical centres lacking the most basic necessities.
According to UN figures, Gazans suffer from an acute shortage of medical services, with only 16 hospitals still partially functioning.
