American and Western reinforcements to the Red Sea amid escalating Yemeni operations
The US and the European Union on Tuesday sent defense reinforcements to the Middle East, especially the Red Sea region. This move coincides with the escalating Yemeni operations against Israeli occupation.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The European mission in the Red Sea, known as “Aspides,” announced the joining of a new Greek frigate known as “HS SPETSAI.”
The mission stated that the frigate will join its naval fleet in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Recently, the European mission reduced its battleships from the Red Sea, while opening diplomatic channels with Sana’a, with the latest being a visit at the European Parliament level.
These European reinforcements come shortly after the US Department of Defense announced the reinforcement of its defenses in the region.
The US Department of Defense indicated in a statement that the reinforcements include warplanes and air defense systems.
Although America and Western countries maintain significant forces and massive fleets deployed since the start of Yemeni operations in November last year, these reinforcements signal concerns from these countries about larger Yemeni attacks, despite the failure of all these defenses, fleets, and systems to intercept even the simplest attacks over the past few months.
