Borrell: Starvation is being used as a weapon against a people left alone in northern Gaza

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell said starvation was being used as a weapon against a people left alone in northern Gaza, while the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said Gazans were searching in rubbish and amid rubble for ways to survive.

Borrell said in press statements on Tuesday, “Humanitarian aid does not reach Gaza, and the United Nations is unable to provide support,” noting that the situation in Gaza is worse than in Lebanon, as there are 250,000 people in northern Gaza suffering alone. “Why don’t we go to the Security Council to raise the issue of humanitarian aid to Gaza?” he asked.
Louise Wotridge, a spokeswoman for UNRWA, said the population was large
In the northern Gaza Strip, he is forced to search through garbage and rubble in order to find necessities necessary for survival.

“There are about 65,000 people in besieged areas in northern Gaza, and we have been told that they are searching through garbage and building rubble for food. They are looking for old canned food or whatever food they can find.”
