A human rights center condemns the crime of torturing and killing the poet Al-Hatem in the prisons of Marib
The “Eye of Humanity Center for Rights and Development” condemned, on Tuesday, the crime of torturing and killing the detained poet Rashid Alawi Al-Hatem in the prisons of the Islah Party, loyal to the coalition, in the city of Marib.
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The center said in a statement that “torture until death is a serious violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the killing or torture of detainees and describes it as a war crime,” considering that “this crime is an extension of a series of crimes of killing, dragging, and torture against detainees and prisoners at the hands of the mercenaries affiliated with the coalition led by the Saudi regime.”
It held “the coalition countries responsible for this crime and its predecessors, and it demand an investigation and criminal accountability for the coalition leadership and those proven to be involved in these crimes,” renewing its call to “form an impartial international investigation committee to investigate all crimes committed against the Yemeni people.”
