The UN reveals the fate of one of its employees and its work in northern Yemen

The UN denied, on Wednesday, halting its operations in northern Yemen. This comes amid reports of the conclusion of investigations into the death of one of its employees during his detention.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The UN Coordinator Resident in Sana’a, Julien Harneis, confirmed that the UN hasn’t and will not stop its operations in Sana’a and Sa’ada. He pointed out that a temporary suspension occurred earlier in Sa’ada due to the lack of a suitable working environment, emphasizing that this decision was made prior to the death of a UN employee in Yemeni custody.

The UN official ruled out any relocation of its offices to Aden.

He also confirmed that the death of the UN employee, Ahmed, was natural, describing it as a death that refutes another media propaganda.

Regional and international parties had attempted to exploit the incident of the death of a UN employee during detention by prompting and pressuring the UN to end its operations in northern Yemen.

At the forefront of these parties is the US, which is throwing its weight in an attempt to pressure Yemen to pass an agenda related to protecting the Israeli occupation.
