The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday that the Martyr Mohammed al-Durrah Children’s Hospital east of Gaza City was completely out of service after sustaining severe damage from an Israeli bombing two days ago.
In a press statement received by Quds Press, the ministry said that the bombing caused significant damage to the hospital’s intensive care unit and alternative energy system, leading to the suspension of its health services.
The ministry indicated that the number of hospitals out of service in the Gaza Strip has risen to 37, amid the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip.
In a previous statement on Wednesday, the ministry condemned the occupation’s targeting of the hospital, describing it as “a new war crime and a further devastation of health facilities,” especially since the hospital is one of the most prominent medical facilities dedicated to children in Gaza City.
