The installation of special air defense systems for drones on American aircraft carriers confirms the hitting of Truman

One of the largest American technology companies revealed on Thursday that the American forces have started setting up new air defense systems on American battleships, specifically designed for drones, following the American admission of the escape of the aircraft carrier “Harry Truman” from attacks in the Red Sea and the crash of a fighter jet on board.

The Airbus Defense Technical Contracting Company stated that it had delivered to the American Navy a system specialized in countering drone swarms, known as “ExDECS.”

According to the company, the system was developed with the US Naval Research Center and operates using microwaves.

The system was sent to the Red Sea, where American battleships are facing a fateful battle as Yemeni attacks intensify, according to the defense website “Breaking Defense.”

This step confirms previous reports about the hitting of the American aircraft carrier “Truman” after it was subjected to a new attack two days ago, which America admitted forced it to flee, resulting in the fall of an American F-18 fighter.

The installation of the system indicates that American warships are facing a major problem in confronting drones that attack in swarms, which renders all American air defense systems ineffective.

The new system may not make a difference, especially since it is still in the testing phase, and it will not match the strength of Western, American, and Israeli air defense systems that have failed to intercept Yemeni attacks.
