Trump tactically withdraws from the Yemeni quagmire and tries to save face by fabricating a new lie
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
In a statement that reflects the extent of America’s predicament in the battle with Yemen, US President Donald Trump fabricated a new lie, in which he said that the Houthis had informed Washington of their intention to stop attacking American ships and that the US would therefore stop its attacks on Yemen.
Trump added that a “very big announcement” would be issued before his upcoming visit to the Middle East, without revealing its content.
This statement comes at a time when the American forces are suffering from a continuous field attrition as a result of the inability to effectively confront the Yemeni operations that target ships related to Israel or heading to its ports in the Red and Arabian Seas and the Gulf of Aden.
Despite Trump’s talk about the cessation of attacks on American ships, Sana’a hasn’t officially announced the cessation of its naval operations but has previously explained that its targeting of American ships came in response to the direct aggression of the American forces on Yemen, stressing in its previous statements that its main operations are directed against Israeli ships or those heading to Ports of occupied Palestine.
About an hour before Trump’s statements, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, confirmed in a post on his X platform account the steadfastness of the Yemeni position in support of Gaza, the continuation of its support, and the response to the American-Israeli aggression on Yemen.
Observers see that Trump’s statements come in the context of his attempts to save face after Washington’s failure to achieve any military result that would stop the Yemeni naval operations or force Sana’a to retreat from its supportive position for Gaza, especially with the expansion of the targeting areas and the complication of the American security situation in the region.
