The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip condemned the Israeli army’s targeting of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital on Wednesday, stressing that it falls within the framework of “undermining the health system.”
This is part of the genocide that the Israeli army, with US support, has been perpetrating against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for 20 months.
The ministry said in a statement that “the Israeli army targeted the roof of the administration building at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital (in the central Gaza Strip), causing fear and confusion among patients and medical staff.”
It added: “The Israeli occupation continues its systematic policy of undermining the health system in the Gaza Strip.”
It continued: “We condemn the targeting of the hospital, and we demand the provision of protection to health institutions and the criminalization of the continued undermining and targeting of the health system.”
Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army detonated three drones over the roof of the hospital in less than an hour, which houses patients, medical staff, and thousands of displaced people.
The witnesses stated that the targeting did not result in any casualties.
