The Gaza Municipality announced on Wednesday that it was forced to significantly reduce its basic services due to fuel shortages and the ban on new fuel imports, as local and international organizations are unable to provide it.
In a press release, the municipality explained that it has reduced the operating hours of water wells to a minimum, reduced sewage services, and completely halted waste collection operations, threatening a serious deterioration in the health and environmental conditions.
The municipality called on local and international organizations to take urgent action to secure fuel, warning that the continuation of the crisis will contribute to the spread of epidemics and environmental and health pollution, threatening the lives of residents in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
