Israel deceives the world with fake aid shipments while famine rages on in its most horrific form

Civil society organizations in the Gaza Strip warned of worsening famine in the Strip, as Israel continues to use public relations to mislead the international community by falsely promoting aid access, even as the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels since the start of the offensive.
In a press release issued Wednesday, the organizations explained that the Israeli occupation authorities “continue to mislead the world” by suggesting that aid trucks are entering the Strip, while in fact, they are being prevented from reaching areas in need.
The organizations noted that trucks that are permitted to enter are prevented from passing through specific points described as “red zones.” These are dangerous areas, where civilians attempting to approach them are exposed to direct fire from tanks, snipers, and soldiers armed with recently deployed self-guided machine guns.
The statement emphasized that “Israel is deliberately obstructing the arrival of aid to international organizations’ warehouses and preventing its safe and equitable distribution.” They considered this a blatant attempt to circumvent international pressure by creating the illusion of humanitarian aid, while continuing to implement policies of mass starvation in new ways.
The statement noted that dozens of newborn babies have died in recent days due to the lack of therapeutic milk and nutritional supplements, and that hundreds more face the same fate in the absence of any effective solutions. The organizations called for a full day to be allocated for the immediate and urgent entry of this type of milk through the crossings.
Civil society organizations emphasized that the flow of at least 600 trucks daily carrying goods, merchandise, and aid is the minimum required to contain the famine affecting more than two million people in Gaza.
The statement called on international institutions to “assume their moral and humanitarian responsibilities” toward what it described as a “catastrophic scene” and to work to end the occupation’s control over the aid mechanism, which has become a tool of slow killing.
