A Chinese Website: The last men in the Middle East… The Houthis change the rules of engagement with hypersonic missiles

In a striking report published by the Chinese website “Guancha,” the qualitative military escalation led by the Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement against “Israel” is highlighted, describing the group as “the last real men in the Middle East,” in an expression that reflects clear admiration for their military steadfastness in facing the American-Israeli coalition.

The Chinese site pointed out that the military spokesperson for the group, Yahya Saree, announced on the morning of August 5 the launch of a hypersonic missile of the “Palestine-2” model, targeting Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. This strike is the third of its kind within just eight days, indicating an unprecedented escalation in the pace of attacks and marking the entry of the regional conflict into a new phase of direct confrontation.

The report stated that since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in October 2023, the Houthi group has intensified its military operations in support of the Palestinians, targeting vessels linked to Israel in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and carrying out missile strikes and drone attacks within the occupied territories. It even managed to sink two large ships heading to Israel within just 24 hours, in an operation described by the site as “surprising and shocking.”

The site noted that the Houthis have proven to be a force not to be underestimated, even in the face of the US, the world’s superpower, as the group has shown no signs of retreat or fear and has continued its military operations with high efficiency.

The report added that the Houthi group, despite being active in one of the poorest countries in the world, was able to impose itself as a difficult number in the regional equation at a time when other Arab countries were signing ceasefire agreements with “Israel.”

According to the site, the Houthis continue to fight amid siege and hunger, bearing military pressure from America and “Israel,” and are even taking the battle into “Israeli territories.”

One of the most prominent points addressed in the report is the group’s ability to use hypersonic missiles, specifically the “Palestine-2” missile, which boasts very advanced technical specifications, including:

• A range of up to 2,150 kilometers.
• A speed of up to 16 Mach.
• Precision guidance capability.
• Ability to penetrate air defense systems, including the Iron Dome.

These specifications, according to the site, surpass the capabilities of most small and medium countries and raise questions about the source of this advanced technology.

The Chinese site pointed out that the US conducted investigations into the sources of the Houthis’ armament, and the results were shocking, as it was found that the group possesses drones, anti-ship missiles, GPS jamming systems, and air defense systems, reflecting a qualitative development in their military capabilities.

The report concluded by noting that despite lacking conventional military infrastructure, the Houthi group has managed to transform into an influential regional power, changing the rules of engagement in the Middle East in direct confrontation with America and Israel.
