Sana’a drones rattle the Pentagon

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

US military institutions are witnessing widespread movement to address the superiority of Sana’a forces in drones, which were tested by the US Navy during the recent confrontation between the two sides.

The US Naval Institute said in a report that the US military has requested funding for the 2026 fiscal year for small unmanned aerial vehicle (sUAS) programs, confirming that “Congress is considering funding the military’s drone programs as part of the defense authorization and spending appropriations legislation for the 2026 fiscal year.”

For its part, the US website Defense One, which specializes in defense and security affairs, published a report revealing new efforts by the Pentagon to accelerate what it describes as the “drone war” by forming an offensive team affiliated with the US Navy based in Quantico, Virginia.

The report noted that this move reflects Washington’s belated recognition of the importance of drones in modern battlefields, after they established themselves as a key weapon in the wars in Gaza, Ukraine, and the Red Sea, which poses a difficult challenge for the US military to compensate for the gap in the field revealed by recent battles.
