The Ministry of Health in Gaza rejected the Israeli occupation authorities’ request to transfer health system resources from the Gaza Strip to the southern Gaza Strip.
In a statement today, the Ministry expressed its rejection of “any step that would undermine what remains of the health system after the systematic destruction carried out by the occupation authorities,” considering that such a step “would deprive more than one million people of their right to treatment and put the lives of residents, patients, and the wounded at imminent risk.”
It called on all international and UN institutions to “work to protect what remains of the health system and provide all necessary resources to save lives,” emphasizing “the importance of maintaining the provision of health services as a right guaranteed by all laws to all citizens wherever they are.”
The Israeli occupation army announced today that it had begun informing medical personnel and relief organizations in northern Gaza of “the need to begin preparing evacuation plans, in preparation for a military operation to seize control of the city.”
