Gaza Civil Defense: Bodies of 103 martyrs recovered

A statistical report issued by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Gaza indicated that its crews in the Gaza Strip governorates recovered the bodies of 103 martyrs from areas from which the Israeli occupation forces withdrew after the ceasefire was announced last Friday.

The Civil Defense Directorate confirmed in a statement issued by its media office that some of the martyrs’ bodies were decomposed and others were incomplete remains. They were recovered from streets and from under the rubble of buildings and homes. Hundreds of martyrs’ bodies remain under the rubble, making it difficult to retrieve them due to the lack of heavy rescue equipment.

The statement explained that its ambulance crews transported the bodies to hospitals in the Gaza Strip governorates.

The movement said in a statement that “the horrific scenes that appeared on the bodies of the martyrs handed over by the occupation, and the signs of torture, abuse, and field executions that appeared on them, constitute a heinous crime that amounts to genocide against our Palestinian people.”
For its part, the Government Media Office in Gaza announced the receipt of 120 bodies in three consecutive batches, including dozens of unidentified bodies, stressing that examinations and field evidence revealed field executions and severe physical torture committed by Israeli forces.
The office explained that documented evidence included signs of hanging and ropes around the necks, close-range gunshots, hands and feet bound with plastic slings, blindfolds, bodies crushed under tank tracks, and decomposing bodies that were difficult to identify.
