Iranian official: We will close Bab Al-Mandeb and warn against any alternatives, including the UAE-Israel line

The spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Ibrahim Rezaei, stated that some countries in the region “have realized their mistake” and sent messages to Iran, noting that Bahrain and the UAE are still “following a wrong path.”

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Rezaei added, in statements reported by the Tasnim news agency, that Tehran will not allow the formation of what he described as the “UAE-Israel line” in the region, affirming that the war “isn’t over yet” and that there is no real ceasefire or clear horizon for a political agreement with the US.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Rezaei said that the naval force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has affirmed since the second week of the war that no power in the world will be able to remove the strait from Iranian control, adding that the passage of oil through it “will not happen without Iran’s permission.”

The Iranian official continued, saying, “We have closed the Strait of Hormuz, and we have the capability to close the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait as well, whether through our direct military capabilities or through our regional allies.”

Rezaei also considered that the withdrawal of American forces from what he described as “Operation Freedom” in the Gulf came as a result of “the strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

These statements come amid escalating military tensions and sporadic confrontations in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz, with repeated Iranian affirmations that the security of navigation in the strait is under the supervision of its armed forces.
