America reconciles with the “Houthis” as the “Terrorism” designation takes effect

The US resumed reconciling with Yemen on Saturday, coinciding with the entry into force of the designation of the Ansar Allah “Houthis” movement as a terrorist organization, amid fears of a Yemeni reaction.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The US preempted the entry into force of the decision to designate Ansar Allah on the terrorism list by leaking news of a new agreement.

Al Jazeera channel quoted US officials talking about an undisclosed agreement regarding the attack on US forces.

The sources revealed fears of attacks on US bases, with their talk of Trump granting the leaders of his forces in the region the authority to deal with what they described as the “Houthis” in the event of attacks.

The US decision to designate Ansar Allah entered into force on Friday, about 30 days after it was issued.

The concerns did not only concern the Americans but also the Israeli occupation.

Despite the passage of two days since the designation took effect, no impact has been recorded on Yemen, while US military experts and intelligence officials, led by Bruce Riedel, downplayed the value of the designation, describing it as a failure and unenforceable.

The designation is not the first, as Trump had previously designated Ansar Allah during his first term, followed by President Biden, not to mention the long list of sanctions issued by the US Treasury Department since the start of the Yemeni operations in support of Gaza.
