New US targeting of senior “Houthi” leaders

On Monday, the US began new attempts to prevent the anticipated Yemeni escalation against the Israeli occupation by targeting senior leaders of the Ansar Allah “Houthi” movement.

This coincides with the anticipation of the return of Yemeni operations in light of the return of the siege and war on Gaza.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar A-Yemeni:

The US Treasury announced the imposition of new sanctions on several Yemeni personalities, at the forefront of which is Mohammed Abdul Salam, the head of the negotiating delegation.

Although America has been imposing escalating sanctions since the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood and Yemen’s declaration of its decision to support Gaza with naval and ground support, which have targeted Yemeni leaders such as the leader of Ansar Allah, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, the timing of the latest sanctions indicates that they are part of attempts to pressure Yemen to stop any new operations against the Israeli occupation and its allies.

Targeting Abdul Salam indicates Washington’s attempt to exert pressure using the Yemen political file, as the leaders included in the sanctions do not have balances abroad and don’t have a record of external trips.

Earlier, international parties, led by America, expressed concerns about the return of Yemeni supporting operations for Gaza with the return of the occupation’s escalation.

Over the past year, Yemen has succeeded in inflicting painful strikes on the Israeli occupation in its own backyard and its allies along the shipping lanes from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean.

America has tried in various ways to reach an agreement with Sana’a regarding the cessation of Yemeni operations in exchange for economic and political privileges, to no avail, with Yemen affirming that its position is humanitarian, brotherly, and non-negotiable.
