A Chinese Website: America avoids sending ground troops to Yemen out of fear of incurring heavy losses and relies on its agents there

A report published by the Chinese website “Sohu” revealed that the US is avoiding sending ground troops to Yemen out of fear of incurring heavy losses in the face of the Sana’a forces, indicating that Washington has relied on a proxy strategy to compensate for the lack of direct intervention.

According to the report, the US air campaign that lasted for more than a month did not achieve tangible results despite spending billions of dollars and launching hundreds of missiles, as the losses were limited to some marginal targets without affecting the combat capabilities of the Sana’a forces.

The report pointed out that Washington’s reliance on regional proxies, including Saudi Arabia, the Yemeni government (the Al-Alimi government), and some local militias, reflects a weakness in confidence and capability, especially in light of the steadfastness of the Sana’a forces and their superiority in terrain warfare and ground battles.

The newspaper’s sources considered that the use of mercenaries and undisciplined militias does not compensate for the absence of regular armies, noting that the battle in Yemen has become an indicator of the decline of American hegemony and the transformation of its role into a mere funder and remote director in a battlefield that requires actual presence, not proxy fighting.
