Gaza Civil Defense: Israeli attacks continue despite Trump’s plan

The Civil Defense in Gaza confirmed on Sunday that Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, despite US President Donald Trump’s plan for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange.
This came in a statement issued by Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal, commenting on Israel’s continued attacks on the Strip and its disregard for Trump’s call on Friday for an immediate halt to the bombing.
Basal said, “The Israeli attacks continue despite the announcement of the US president’s plan.”
On Friday, Trump said he believes Hamas is “ready for a lasting peace,” calling on Tel Aviv to immediately halt its bombing of Gaza and release the Israeli prisoners.
There are an estimated 48 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, 20 of whom are alive, while approximately 11,100 Palestinians are languishing in Israeli prisons, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, many of whom have been killed, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.
Trump’s remarks came in response to a statement in which Hamas announced its agreement to release Israeli prisoners in accordance with his proposal and to hand over control of the Gaza Strip to an independent Palestinian body.
Basal emphasized that Israel is preventing humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza City, adding, “Not a single truck carrying aid has entered Gaza City since the siege began.”
In this context, Basal pointed out that there are a number of dead bodies whose bodies civil defense crews are unable to recover from the areas of the army’s military operations.
