Britain returns “Diamond” to Yemen after months of maintenance

Today, Tuesday, Britain announced the return of the destroyer “HMS Diamond” to the Red Sea.

This comes after months of undergoing maintenance due to attacks carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The British media quoted defense officials as saying that “Diamond” will resume its mission of protecting ships off the Yemeni coast.

The UK had previously announced the withdrawal of the destroyer months ago following a Yemeni attack.

“Diamond” is one of approximately five British battleships that were summoned from the Gulf due to damage sustained during their participation in the confrontations in the Red and Arabian Seas.

Although the return of “Diamond” may not significantly impact the ongoing battle in the Red and Arabian Seas and would tend to be in favor of the landowner, the timing of the ship’s return coinciding with Yemen lifting its decision to sink ships may make the exhausted destroyer a new target.
