Biggest in UN History – The martyrdom of more than 430 displaced persons in UN flagged shelters in Gaza

The UNRWA for Palestine Refugees revealed on Wednesday the martyrdom of over 430 displaced persons in UN-flagged shelters in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7th last year.

Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The spokesman for the UN agency, Adnan Abu Hasna, stated to the media that “more than 150 UNRWA premises were directly and indirectly damaged” due to the war, while 165 agency workers were martyred, a number described as the “biggest in UN history.”

Today, the Zionist occupation’s bombardment of an UNRWA food distribution center in Rafah, in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip, resulted in the martyrdom of one of its employees, according to the agency.

Abu Hasna stated that this center is “one of the few remaining centers in the Gaza Strip in general and in the city of Rafah.”

He explained, “It may be the main and largest center for receiving food supplies coming from the Rafah crossing and also for distributing these supplies to the rest of the areas of the Gaza Strip or to the residents of Rafah, where about 1.5 million Palestinians currently reside.”

He mentioned that UNRWA sends the coordinates of all its centers to the occupation twice daily, stating, “The coordinates of this center were sent this morning.” Despite this, the center, which is considered the main center for distributing food aid, was bombed.

Abu Hasna emphasized that UN premises should be protected according to international law and have immunity. In the latest statistics announced by UNRWA, 17,000 unaccompanied children and 10,000 children who have lost at least one of their parents in the Gaza Strip were reported.
