Regardless of the noise, there is no way for us except to continue the economic boycott until we achieve self-sufficiency
Mehdi Al-Mashat, the President of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, emphasized on Thursday the importance of continuing the path of economic boycott against American and Israeli goods in support of Gaza, pointing out that “the official boycott path should be based on a long-term plan because it requires providing alternatives.”
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
During his chairmanship of a meeting of the Al-Aqsa Committee, Al-Mashat considered that “any noise regarding the boycott comes from followers of some foreign organizations who raise exploitative issues.” He affirmed, saying, “Regardless of the noise, there is no way for us except to continue until we achieve a complete boycott.”
He indicated that “the state’s move towards alternatives is not an easy matter and can’t be accomplished within a few days, and in light of the boycott, we must work on self-sufficiency and local production,” stressing that the issue of boycott “should be approached with flexibility, determination, and follow-up and should be part of a transformative plan that grants facilitations until we achieve self-sufficiency.”
The Ministry of Industry and Trade in the Sana’a government had announced a ban on importing goods from a large number of American and Israeli companies as part of activating the boycott weapon in condemnation of the ongoing massacres in Gaza for nearly eight months.
