A devastating Yemeni strike on the most important Israeli ports

Israeli media outlets, including the economic website “The Marker,” reported that the port of Umm Al-Rashrash Eilat will be completely closed starting next Sunday, July 20, 2025, due to a severe financial crisis threatening its operational continuity.

Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

According to the reports, the Eilat municipality has frozen the port’s accounts due to the accumulation of large debts, the most prominent of which are the Al-Arnona fees—the municipal property tax, which have exceeded millions of shekels. This measure has resulted in a financial paralysis that has prevented the payment of employee salaries and the coverage of basic operating expenses.

This development comes against the backdrop of a sharp and ongoing decline in the port’s activity since the end of 2023 as a result of the withdrawal of the majority of global shipping companies from the Red Sea route due to the naval military operations carried out by the Yemeni forces against ships associated with Israel in support of Gaza.

The port of Umm Al-Rashrash is a strategic outlet on the Red Sea, and its expected halt will deal a direct blow to the export and military logistical support sectors and reflects the escalating impact of the naval blockade imposed on the Israeli entity in this vital corridor.
