Russian newspaper: Yemen defeated the strongest Western powers, foremost among them Washington

The Russian military newspaper “Voyenny Obozreniye” published a report in which it confirmed the failure of the US and its Western allies in confronting the Sana’a forces, who have controlled navigation in the Red Sea for almost a year and a half.

The newspaper explained that the Red Sea is currently completely devoid of any American ships, a precedent that has not occurred since the start of Yemeni control operations, indicating that Washington, which has led military operations with the Europeans since January 2024, had to retreat after receiving “painful blows,” which was confirmed by the “USNI News” agency.

It clarified that Yemeni activity is escalating at a remarkable pace, with the sinking of two dry cargo ships and a new missile attack on Israel, noting that these developments came after Sana’a announced in the fall of 2023 the targeting of Israeli and allied ships passing off the Yemeni coasts in response to the Israeli ground operation in Gaza.

The Russian newspaper pointed out that the failure was not limited to Washington, as the British “The Economist” had previously confirmed that the European Union failed to secure navigation, leading to a 60% decrease in ship movement in the part controlled by the Yemenis, indicating the extent of their impact on this vital shipping artery.
